"Acting is happy agony."

-Jean-Paul Sartre

"All you’ve got to do in this country today is just be on television and you’re more known and respected than anyone who paints a great painting or creates great music or writes a great book or is a great dancer."

Flyin' High (In the Friendly Sky)-Marvin Gaye

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

I've been in a state where nothing seems too real. Haven't posted in a while.

Tanner Goods on Hypebeast

Always good to see local companies making headlines, this time it's Tanner Goods. Their stuff is available at some of my favorites stores like Compound, Local 35, and Hecklewood (where they are based) makes some great leather goods that are known for lasting forever and wearing in beautifully. If you can't think of a great birthday present for me (April 29th), get me one of these belts. Even the guys at Street Etiquette wear Tanner belts. Check out the interview here.

Thom Brown for Supreme

The latest honeyee Feature includes the Thom Brown/Supreme collaboration. Though it seems to be just a simple oxford shirt, this is a step in the right direction. One of my favorite designers teaming up with one of my favorite street-wear brands. There are three colorways: blue, grey, and red.

Here is Hiroshi Fujiwara sporting one.

Carbon Fiber Chopsticks

Just what I need to shovel rice down my throat even faster.

Second life size Gundam?!

I guess Bandai wasn't done with their last fifty foot Gundam. Having a nostalgic childhood memory right now. This Strike Gundam is equipped with my weapon of choice as a kid. Check out the day and night time shots.

That's Not Me- The Beach Boys (The Pendletones)

Off my favorite Beach Boys album, Petsounds.

A lot of the stuff I will be posting is stuff that I was listening to a lot in Cuba.

Watchmen

Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face.
The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save Us!"
...and I'll look down, and whisper, "No".

I read Watchmen again. I don't need to say how amazing this book is, but it is a beautiful piece of art. I have read it six times now and I find something new in it each time I read it. I have so many favorite parts, but what sticks out to me right now is when Laurie realizes who her father is. Not to ruin it for anybody who is new to the book, but it is one of the greatest ironically beautiful scenes I have ever witnessed. I could go on forever about this book, but I will stop now.

I'm Home

Where to begin?
This is my first time on my computer since arriving home from Cuba. I would like to think that I have traveled a lot for my age, but I have never had this feeling after a trip. I was with such a great group of people and it feels so strange to not be with them anymore.

Anyways, Cuba was great. Probably going to be posting about it for a while. I don't think I could sum up all of my experiences and feelings about it into one post, or at least till I have enough time to think it through. As of right now all I can think of is how much I miss everyone.

More on Cuba later.

Fall in Love

Lego Sequencer

Japanese designer Yoshi Akai's Lego based step sequencer. It has 3 channels and 8 steps with each different colored block have their own sound. Kind of a nostalgic piece of machinery for me in that it mixes one of my childhood obsessions with one of my current obsessions. Check out more photos and some of his other work at his website: http://www.yoshiakai.com

The Prophet

As the cover says, Kahlil Gibran's Masterpiece. Just about the only way to sum up this book. I have probably read it at least four times, and each new time I learn something new from it.

John McLaughlin- Miles Davis

Off his album Bitches Brew.

Nike Lunarlite Woven Chukka

Another nice hybrid from Nike Sportswear. There are a couple of other colorways coming out too, but I think that this one is probably my favorite. No specific release date set yet. Not even the people at 21 and Mercer know when these are coming out, but they are currently my most anticipated shoe.

Nike Air Royalty Macaroons

Available April 1st at Colette.
